1970-1979
The 1970s marked a significant improvement in hockey card production. Topps and O-Pee-Chee dominated the market with cleaner printing and more consistent card stock than previous decades, although centring remained a common problem. Distribution expanded through wax packs, rack packs, and vending cases, making goalie rookie cards more accessible to young collectors. Sets were produced in large quantities, and many new goalies entered the league, but printing issues make high-graded goalie rookie cards from the 70s hard to find.
